Some modern Velux windows are installed with a grey plastic bracket pre-installed. It is a requirement of the Sunflex product that this is removed. If your window does not have the bracket pre-installed move to step 3.

| 1) The existing bracket should be removed by levering a chisel or other suitable flat blade under the plastic. The existing bracket will pop off but may leave the push fit lugs in the frame. The frame may be constructed with soft wood and the blade may slightly dent the frame when levering the bracket off. The new bracket and blind assembly will cover these marks. |
| 2) Provided the lugs are relatively flush with the frame surface they can be left as they are. If they have popped out slightly either remove completely or just tap them flush. |
| 3) Screw the Sunflex brackets into position on both sides of the window, as shown below. The long thin piece of plastic will butt up against the glass. |
| 4) Simply slide the blind upwards into the brackets. The blind will “click” into position. |
| 5) Slide one of the aluminium side channels into a position under the top bar as shown in the photo. Making sure that the plastic edge of the bottom draw bar of the blind enters the recessed channel. |
| 6) Attach one of the cord clips to the bottom of the side channel as shown. The tension on the cord will be sufficient to hold the side channel in place against the top bar. |
| 7) Push the side channel into place so that the bottom edge is flush with the frame. The thin plastic tab on the end of the cord clip will get bent under. Now Screw the side channel into place making sure the side channel remains flush with the frame. |
| 8) Screw the side channel into place making sure the side channel remains flush with the frame. |
| 9) Slide the remaining aluminium side channel into a position as shown in the photo. Making sure that the plastic edge of the bottom draw bar of the blind enters the recessed channel. |
| 10) As per step 6 on other side attach the remaining cord clip to the bottom of the side channel as shown. The tension on the cord will be sufficient to hold the side channel in place against the top bar. |
| 11) As per step 7 on other side Push the side channel into place so that the bottom edge is flush with the frame. The thin plastic tab on the end of the cord clip will get bent under. Now Screw the side channel into place making sure the side channel remains flush with the frame. |
